Baramulla police solves burglary case within 72 hours, recovers 53 stolen mobile phones

Srinagar, September 12: Baramulla Police solved a burglary case within 72 hours and recovered 53 stolen mobile phones.
A complaint was lodged by Rafi Jabbar Mir son of Abdul Jabbar Mir resident of Delina  with Police Station Baramulla stating that some unknown burglars had entered into his electronics shop at Delina and had stolen a large number of mobile phones.

Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 155/2017 under section 457, 380 RPC was registered at Police Station Baramulla and investigation started.

During the course of investigation, several suspects were rounded up and strenuous efforts were made to recover the stolen mobile phones. Two suspects Altaf Ahmad Bhat son of Abdul Majeed Bhat and Zahoor Ahmad son of Ghulam Rasool Zargar, both residents of Krankshivan, Sopore revealed during questioning that they had stolen the mobile phones  and upon their disclosure 53 stolen mobile phones of different models were recovered. Further questioning of the accused persons is going on.

Missing lady traced out by Anantnag Police

 Srinagar, September 12: Anantnag Police recovered a missing lady from Ramban area of Jammu.

On 31-07-2017 Police station Kokernag received a written complaint from one person namely Ghulam Nabi Ahanger, resident of Takiya Magam that his wife is missing since 31-07-2017.

    In this regard a missing report was lodged and speedy action was taken in order to trace out the missing lady. After strenuous efforts the said lady was traced out by Anantnag Police from Ramban area of Jammu.

   After completion  of all legal formalities, the lady was handed over to her family members.

Handwara police  destroyed bhang cultivation in Handwara

Srinagar, September 12: Handwara police  destroyed bhang cultivation in Ucher Magam area of Handwara.

Handwara Police on its drive against the contraband crops, destroyed bhang cultivation spread over a vast patch of land at village Ucher Magam.

On the directions of SSP Handwara under the supervision of SDPO Handwara a police party headed by Division officer  Police post Magam conducted a drive against  contraband bhang cultivators and destroyed bhang spread over many kanals of land at village Ucher Magam .

 The local public appreciated Police Handwara for this special drive. Furthermore, Police Handwara appealed to the parents to keep strict vigil on the activities of their children and report the cases of drug addiction and other antisocial activities to the police in order to counsel them.

2nd Phase of South Kashmir Sports Festival begins

Srinagar, September 12: The 2nd Phase of South Kashmir Sports Festival 2017 was today declared open by Shri Swayam Prakash Pani, DIG of Police, South Kashmir Range, at Sports Stadium Tikka Bagh, Mattan Anantnag and took salute on the march past of the participating sports contingents.

        Speaking on the occasion DIGP, SKR, advised all sportsmen to be positive and play the games with team spirit. In accordance to Frenchman Cubertin’s quote “Play the Game and Play it Well”. He further threw light on importance of sports in daily life.

During the opening ceremony a differently abled cricketer Aamir Rasool of Waghama Bijbehara, was present on the occasion. Amir is representing Indian Para Cricket Team and has participated several times at National level.

        A spectacular cultural programme was presented by the students of Police Public School, Anantnag, Hista Higher Secondary School, Anantnag which was appreciated by everyone. The Dare Devil team of J&K Police presented a stunning performance which was the star attraction of the occasion.

        The festival is being played in the disciplines of 1.T20 Cricket (Boys & Girls), 2. Volley ball (Boys & Girls) 3. Kho-Kho (Girls), 4.Track event 100 mtr (Girls) & 200 mtr (Boys), 5. Discuss throw (Boys & Girls), 6. Wushur (Girls), 7.Tug of war (Boys), 8. Kabaddi (Boys), 9. Short version Football (Boys), 10. Short put (Boys & Girls), 11. Karate (Boys), 12. Javelin throw (Boys & Girls).

        Top 03 teams/ athletes of each event will be selected for 3rd Phase of sports festival which will be played at Zonal Level.
