Anantnag police provides helping hand by clearing blocked road for fire tenders in shortest possible time

Srinagar, April 21: Police Station Kokernag received an information that fire broke out in village Pohru Adigam in two residential houses and a cow shed.

On this information, SDPO Kokernag Shri Zahid Aziz Samoon along with SHO  Kokernag Shri Tariq Yousuf  rushed to the spot along with Fire Service Kokernag. While on way it was found that the road connecting the village was blocked due to land slide. The police team cleared the road and provided the safe passage to the fire tenders.

On reaching the spot, the fire tenders brought fire under control and stopped it from further spreading to other nearby houses.

However, no loss of life or injury was reported in this incident.

Srinagar police arrested 06 gamblers

Srinagar, April 21: Srinagar police arrested six gamblers and recovered stake money of rupees 51,000 from the gambling spot.

Acting on an information, a police party of Police Station Nowahata raided a gambling site at Malkha near Bohu-ud- din Sahib in their jurisdiction. During the raid six gamblers were arrested and stake money of rupees 51,000 was recovered form the spot.

A case FIR number 34/2017 under section 13 Gambling Act was registered and investigation was taken up.

Accused arrested for rape attempt

Srinagar, April 21: One person (name withheld) reported in Police Post Noorbagh and stated that one Imtiyaz Ahmad Bhat son of Abdul Rehman resident of Pattan attempted to rape his minor six years old daughter.

        A case FIR number 70/2017 under section 376, 511 RPC was registered and investigation was taken up. The police has succeeded in arresting the accused with hours. Further investigation is going on.
